Rick Stoner grew up in Cortez, Colorado, near the Four Corners area, known for it’s bright lights and vivid colors. The varied topography, colors of the mesas, and the brilliant light, which is the main element of Stoner’s work.
Rick has a bachelor’s of fine arts from Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, and a master of fine arts from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He has taught at the University of Denver, Colorado State University and Front Range Community College in Longmont, Colorado.
Rick’s work has been in national shows, such as the Coors National and Artists of America. There have been articles about Rick and his work in magazines such as Southwest Art and American Artist. Stoner has been a professional artist for over 35 years.
